Lela Treakle is a Mississippi native who has called the Gulf Coast home for over a decade. She is a seasoned paralegal with more than 11 years of experience, primarily focusing on civil litigation and personal injury law. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong commitment to advocacy, access to justice, and supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging circumstances.
In addition to her professional work, Lela volunteers with Harrison County Friends of Court, where she assists in efforts to support children and families navigating the court system. Her volunteer service reflects her belief that every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to be heard.
Lela earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from The University of Southern Mississippi, where she developed a deeper understanding of social inequality and the systemic factors that shape individual experiences. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, she is passionate about fostering inclusion, advocating for underserved populations, and helping create spaces where all people feel welcomed and valued.
Through her service with Gulf Coast Equality, Lela is dedicated to strengthening a more inclusive and equitable Gulf Coast. She believes meaningful change begins with listening, compassion, and a willingness to stand alongside those whose voices are too often overlooked.
