Kelsey Carter Polovich was born and raised in Vancleave, MS. After graduation she moved around from places like Wisconsin to Louisiana. She was interested in exploring different areas to ensure she had exposure to things outside the comfort zone of her small town in Mississippi.

She relocated to the coast in 2014 and began working on completing her college education. In a slightly untraditional sense she took her time but was able to successfully complete her undergrad with the University of Southern Mississippi in Long Beach in 2019. Continuing her education, she completed her Masters in 2022 from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.

In 2020, Kelsey gave birth to her son, Dawson. She and her husband married the following year and reside in Ocean Springs now. She works with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Talent Acquisition and spends her days creating events and opportunities for the company to reach the masses in need of employment.

Kelsey has always had a passion for ally-ship and has participated in programs through employers that focus of creating inclusive, safe spaces for employees. She currently serves on the board of Ingalls’ employee resource group ISEA (Ingalls Shipbuilding Equality Alliance).
