Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Samantha Woods grew up along the Gulf Coast and now calls Hattiesburg, Mississippi home. A graduate of Theodore High School, she studied film and screenwriting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.​

Samantha is the artist and owner behind The Crafty Witch, a small creative business she founded in 2023. Through markets across the Gulf Coast and her online shop, she creates handmade art inspired by vintage kitsch, Southern nostalgia, humor, and the wonderfully weird. Her work reflects her interest in the intersection of art and community, particularly the ways creativity can help LGBTQ+ people feel seen, connected, and at home.

Samantha joined the Gulf Coast Equality Council with a particular interest in community outreach, events, and strengthening LGBTQ+ visibility and connection throughout the region. Outside of the Council, she loves horror, vintage treasures, writing, and just about any excuse to make something. She shares her life with her partner, Brooklynn, and their cat, Anchovy.
