​Johnathan was born in Southern Illinois in the early 1980s and relocated to the Gulf Coast in 2020 with his husband to avoid the severe winters of the Midwest. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women’s Studies at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, in 2006. In 2020, he obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.
Throughout his life, Johnathan has resided in Illinois, Iowa, and Mississippi. Currently, he serves as a mental health therapist specializing in neurodivergent and LGBTQ-affirming practices. In 2024, he achieved his Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) credential and provides mental health therapy through telehealth, assisting clients in leading healthier and more fulfilling lives. As an individual who identifies as neurodivergent, Johnathan offers a distinctive viewpoint in his practice, emphasizing the unique needs of his clients while fostering understanding and acceptance of various neurological experiences.
Johnathan joined the board to demonstrate that it is acceptable to live authentically and to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
