A Mississippi transplant, Allison (Ali) Hathaway is a newly emerging advocate within the Mississippi trans and non-binary community.
She is a mother of three, including her transgender daughter, who was a real catalyst for the community work she now does. Her involvement in the TRANS Program, allowed for her to discover her own gender identity, and further embedded her in advocating for trans rights.
In 2025, she received the Legacy Builder Award for her trans youth allyship, and in 2026, she received the Rising Advocate of the Year Award, for her ongoing work within the community.
Prior to her work in creating safe spaces for the transgender, nonbinary and gender nonconforming community of Mississippi, she worked in creating safe spaces for students with disabilities, and dementia care; working as both a special needs paraprofessional, and a dementia care activities director.
Once hailing from California, Ali enjoys all the water and sun she can get. If she can swim it, she’s in her happy place. She also loves photography, and hopes - one day - she can take classes, after her children go out into the world. Begrudgingly, her husband and children have dragged her kicking and screaming into all things Dungeons and Dragons. Anything for her kids.
